Father’s Day In Japan
Hi, welcome back to our blog!
Father’s Day is a day to show your appreciation to your father by giving him various gifts.
In Japan, Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in June.
This year, in 2021, Father’s Day will be on Sunday, June 20th.
Father’s Day is a day that gives us a chance to say thank you to our fathers, something we are usually too embarrassed to do.
Father’s Day has taken root not only in Japan, but also in other countries such as the U.S., Canada, Korea and Germany.
In Japan, there is a tradition to send red carnations for Mother’s Day and yellow roses for Father’s Day.
Why yellow flowers for Father’s Day?
It is said that this is due to the influence of the “Father’s Day Yellow Ribbon Campaign” organized by the Japan Father’s Day Committee.
In this event, yellow was chosen as the image color for Father’s Day because it is a symbol of happiness and joy, and also has the meaning of “wishing for the safety of loved ones.
As a result, the practice of giving yellow roses as a gift on Father’s Day has taken root.
No matter what time of year it is, we should always cherish the days when we give special thanks to someone.
Stay tuned for the next blog update!
Bye bye 🙂
